New Year Resolution

My Wish for You in 2008. May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts. May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills. May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips! May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy. May the problems you had forget your home address! In simple words ............ May 2008 be the best year of your life!!!

Have you made your list? You know, the New Year Resolution List. If you are among those who say, " I don't make resolutions", well, I feel sorry for you. Resolutions are about setting goals for yourself, so you can be challenged. I have been doing my list every year for several, and some years I did good and others didn't last past January. But I keep trying. I just make a list of a couple. If I don't reach those goals one year I add one to list the next year. Look at it with the attitude of 'how can I....?'

I see a new year as another opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start over. I start each year on my knees. I ask God for forgiveness for the sins of 2007 again, just so He doesn't think I forgot them. and I put it behind me. After all, I can't change a thing about it so why dwell. Then I ask my Lord to simply reveal to me what I need to work on in the coming year. That's my list.

There is always one goal I set that I will never mark off the list. It is one I will always strive for but will never achieve. It;s number 1. to be like Jesus. I will never be Jesus, but will always strive to be like him. 2. resolution is to grow closer in my relationship with God.
And 3. to become more disciplined and organized.

I don't know if I will reach these goals this year, but I am going to try very hard. I believe if I try to be more like Jesus, grow closer to God, and be more organized and disciplined, I can be a better wife, person and friend in 2008.

So I challenge you, make a list and challenge yourself this year. Be realistic. If you need to lose weight, set a goal you can achieve quickly, 5 or 10 lbs. If you need to quit smoking, see a doctor and get some help.

2007 was full of challenges for me I wasn't prepared for. But I wouldn't change a thing. It allowed me to see my weakness and my strengths. It changed the way I view life, love and friendship. It showed me how to lean on my Lord and rely on His wisdom. 2007 helped me to realize who my true friends are, and who they are not. And that family is important but not always everything.

I am thankful for 2007 and look forward to 2008.
Happy New Year friends. May God bless you richly.
